To tell you the truth, I’m not a big fan of Andreu Buenafuente’s show: it’s a freak farm, though not the only one… but this is no landmark: I liked neither Cronicas Marcianas… nor the great majority of reality shows where an endless amount of former contestants mess around talking about romance, defiance, dreams… I don’t think I the only person fed up with these topics so I dared to give my opinion.

At the beginning I considered Rodolfo Chiqulicuatre to be the new Neng… but at the moment I knew he was going to TVE in order to compete against other bands for becoming the Spanish contestant in Eurovision, I decided to give him another chance. He wasn’t the best of all, in fact I believe that La Casa Azul was the best of all on stage (no offense meant), but he wasn’t the worst either: so I was happy for him. Why? To begin with, if any of the rest has the real intention of succeeding in the musical industry, losing Eurovision could be the last and only thing they would do with their career. This happened before with Lydia, supported back by Alejandro Sanz, we never heard about her anymore and Agatha Ruiz de la Prada was blamed for everything. Anyway, if Eurovision was a prestigious contest, What happens with the successful Spanish bands? Why doesn’t Alejandro Sanz go himself? It must be that, as we all know, Eurovision isn’t won by the country with the best song nor the best production… but the one with more Eurofriends.

People who criticize are within their rights: spiteful singers who weren’t elected to represent their country, people who don’t feel represented by the singer, television channels who are angry because people are sick of the freaks they discover… it’s not that I’m all day long dancing reggaeton, but I didn’t like either Las Ketchup…  nor Las Supremas de Mostoles, that were almost elected to represent us in Eurovision a few years ago… at least Chiquilicuatre launchs a fierce attack at the modern music.

Yesterday, as many other people I watched the Eurovision Song Contest… I don’t want to fool you, in fact I only pay attention when the Spanish singer of the moment performs and in the voting. More or less everything is decided a long time ago: so-and-so gives points to what’s-its-name and what’s-its-name gives back points to so-and-so… Does anyone believe that Eastern Europe countries were going to vote an Spanish song even if it was good? Anyway, Why our songs mix English and Spanish if it’s known throughout the world that the 65% of the Spaniards don’t speak English? If we want to make friends with other countries, I say we better sing in Russian… with the points given by Portugal, France, Andorra and the whole countries of Eastern Europe we could have reached a good position. Or we could sing in German, the most speaken language in the EU.

The thing is that it’s impossible to give everybody what they want, and if one year the artist that represents us is not the favorite of the Eurofans that’s not so terrible… because the rest of the editions, the ones that have to put up with the unbearable songs are the ordinary people that watch TV that night.

La verdad sea dicha, no soy fan del programa de Andreu Buenafuente: es un criadero de frikis, aunque no el único… pero esto no es un hito: no me gustaba Crónicas Marcianas tampoco… ni la mayor parte de realities televisivos de los que no hacen más que salir “concursantes” que luego nos calientan la cabeza con sus historias de amor, despecho, sueños… no creo que sea la única a la que le aburren estos temas, por eso me he animado a opinar.

En un principio pensé que Rodolfo Chiquilicuatre sería el nuevo Neng… pero cuando empezó todo el rollo de que iba a ir a TVE a competir con otros grupos para representarnos en Eurovisión decidí darle una oportunidad. No era el mejor de los participantes, de hecho creo que La Casa Azul fue el mejor de todos los que pasaron por aquel escenario (sin desmerecer a los otros), pero tampoco era el peor: así que yo me alegré de que hubiese ganado. ¿ Qué por qué? pues para empezar porque si cualquiera del resto de concursantes tiene verdadera intención de triunfar en el mundo de la música, perder en Eurovisión podría ser lo último y único que hicieran con su carrera. Esto fue lo que pasó con con Lydia, apadrinada por Alejandro Sanz, poco más se supo de ella y aún por encima su derrota se la achacaron Agatha Ruíz de la Prada. Además… si tan prestigioso es el festival de Eurovisión, ¿ qué pasa con los todos esos grupos españoles? ¿ por qué no va Alejandro Sanz? Pues debe ser porque como todos sabemos, ahí no gana la mejor canción, ni la mejor puesta en escena… gana quién más euroamigos tiene.

La gente que critica el Chiki Chiki está en su derecho: cantantes despechados porque no los eligieron a ellos, gente que no se siente representada, cadenas de televisión que están mosqueadas porque la gente empieza a hartarse de los frikis de sus cosechas… yo tampoco es que me pase el día perreando, pero tampoco me gustaban las Ketchup… y bueno, Las Supremas de Mostoles ahí estuvieron a puntito de ir a representarnos también… al menos Chiquilicuatre manda un mensaje de crítica a la música actual.

Ayer, como mucha gente en España, estuve viendo el festival de Eurovisión… para que engañarnos, realmente yo sólo hago caso a este programa cuando se acerca la actuación del representante español de turno y en las votaciones. Más o menos todo el pescado estaba vendido ya desde hace años… fulanito vota a menganito, menganito se la devuelve… etc… ¿ acaso alguien cree que los paises del este iban a votar a una canción española por muy buena que fuese? Además, ¿ por qué es necesario meterle a las canciones trozos en inglés si de sobra sabemos que España tiene un 65% de la población con nivel bajo o inexistente de dicho idioma? Digo yo que si se trata de hacer amistades, mejor cantamos en ruso… y oye, igual entre los puntos de Portugal, Francia, Andorra y toda la tropa de paises del Este de Europa hubiesemos alcanzado una buena posición. O en alemán, que es el idioma más hablado en la Unión Europea…

En fin, el caso es que nunca llueve a gusto de todos y digo yo que por un año que se lleve a un artista que no es del gusto de los super fans de eurovisión, tampoco pasa nada… ya que el resto de los años los que tenemos que aguantar canciones insoportables somos el resto de los que encendemos la televisión ese día por la noche.

Y nada… ya se me irán ocurriendo más cosas.
